ETERNAL LIFE

God loves you and wants you to experience His peace and life. The Bible says:

"For God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son, that every one who believes in him may not die but have eternal life. For God did not send his son into the world to be its judge, but to be its saviors." John 3:16, 17

UNION WITH GOD--NOT SEPARATION

By nature man is separated from God. The Bible says:

"...everyone has sinned and is far away from God's saving presence." Romans 3:23

GOD'S REMEDY IS THE CROSS

God's love bridges the gap of separation between God and you. Jesus paid the penalty for your sins when He died on the cross and rose from the grave. The Bible says:

"Christ himself carried our sins in his body to the cross..." I Peter 2:24

MAN'S RESPONSE IS TO RECEIVE CHRIST

You cross the gap into God's family when you receive Christ as your personal Savior. The Bible says:

"Some, however, did receive him and believed in him; so he gave them the right to become God's children." John 1:12

PRAYER OF COMMITMENT

You can receive Christ right now by faith through prayer. God knows your heart and is not so concerned with your words as He is with your attitude. Prayer is talking with God. A sample prayer follows. If this prayer expresses the desire in your heart, then you can use it as your prayer right now:

"Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner. I need you. I believe you died for my sins. Right now, I turn from my sins and open the door of my life and receive You as my Savior and Lord. Thank you for forgiving my sins and giving me eternal life. I give you control of my life. Make me the kind of person You want me to be. Amen."

You need to begin to grow in your relationship with Christ. You do this by talking to Him. Pray about everything. Pray specifically and pray honestly. God talks to you through the Bible; it is your spiritual food. Read it daily. Without spiritual food, you will become weak and sickly in your spiritual life.

Share your new life with other people. This is witnessing. This comes about as a natural result of growing spiritually.

Finally, find other believers who can help you and with whom you can fellowship. If possible, attend a Bible study class where you can ask questions and continue to grow into spiritual maturity.
